About Us

Jason

Follower of Jesus Christ, leader of our household, loving husband, playful daddy, a laugh waiting to happen. This is my husband. I adore him. He was the first one to talk about adoption in our family. He is an Associate Pastor of Administration and has a servant's heart. I continue to learn from his example.

Kim

Follower of Jesus Christ, pastor's wife, mommy, piano teacher, owner of a chocolate lab. I love having lunch with friends and hangin' with my family. I enjoy quilting, working on hand embroidery...and many other crafty things.

Nolan

Bundle of energy, infectious laugh, gentle spirit, tender heart, precious little boy. He is the pride of our family. He cannot wait to adopt a brother or sister from Honduras. He prays for his future sibling almost daily and tells us how he will share his favorite toys with his new brother or sister. When asked whether he wants a brother or sister he replies, "I want two brothers and a sister." I think he may be waiting a while!

How we became a family

Jason and Kim met at Southern Nazarene University and were friends for five years before they started dating. That's right. Five years. Slow movin' sometimes. Anyway...once Jason and Kim started dating they got engaged six months later and then married six months past that. Huge wedding...beautiful memories...but that's another story. 


Two years into our marriage Jason accepted a transfer from the company he was working for to be the Branch Manager in Tampa, Florida. We said good-bye to our families and moved 1,200 miles away. Three years after moving to Tampa, Kim became pregnant with Nolan and was due to deliver at the end of June 2005. But when she hit 27 weeks she developed pre-eclampsia. The doctors put her in the hospital for the duration of her pregnancy, which ended up with Nolan being delivered at 29 weeks, weighing 2 pounds, 10 ounces. 

Nolan lived the first six weeks of his life in the NICU. Through the power of God, Nolan had no complications...he just needed to gain weight and stay healthy. Once released from the hospital Nolan continued to grow...and is now one of the tallest kids in his class! 


When Nolan was about 18 months old, Jason felt that God was calling him to go to seminary full-time and become an administrative pastor. So he quit his wonderful job and moved his family, in faith, to seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Kim taught piano lessons full-time while Jason was a full-time student. God was faithful to work out their schedules every semester so one parent would be home with Nolan instead of using day-care. It was a remarkable journey.

In the summer of 2009 Jason accepted the call to move to a small town in Oklahoma that housed a large, active, growing church of Christ-followers. We love our lives here and are so blessed to be surrounded by a loving community!
